When the current ABA was founded 25 years ago, an extension of the original ABA, the foundation of the league was diversity. Our goal is to provide ownership, management and coaching opportunities to minorities by making it easier to own and operate an ABA team.

Opportunity, inclusion, empowerment have been fundamental to the ABA's growth and success and has resulted in the ABA becoming the largest professional sports league in the US with more than 75% of our ownership being persons of color. We are very proud of the impact the ABA has made in expanding diversity. Many of the original ABA players have been etched in history - Dr. J, George Gervin, Lenny Elmore, George McGinnis, Mel Daniels and others.

You don't have to be a former athletic superstar or MLK Jr, Malcolm X, Barack Obama, Thurgood Marshall, Colin Powell, Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, Jackie Robinson or other noted celebrity to be worthy of recognition for your contributions to making our country great. There is a place for you.
